Stock Prop Firms: Buying Power and Intraday Evidence
A stock prop programme needs a market-specific review. Buying power, instrument availability, position limits and daily closing rules are different fields. A nominal account size or a generic platform screenshot cannot answer all of them.

Identify the stock product and its session rules
HashHedge describes US Stocks as a separate terminal, available through its Two-stage route. Its guide describes daily closing conditions as well as a market-status display. Use the purchased product’s dated schedule and current platform status, rather than applying the Crypto + TradFi timetable.
The guide’s published cutoff times are provider statements, not a substitute for a complete exchange calendar or an actual account observation. Record the relevant date, clock and market. Opening access and the treatment of existing positions may have different cutoffs.
Audit a fictional buying-power record
Suppose a teaching account reports 8,000 units of total buying power. Open positions reserve 3,000 and pending orders reserve 1,200. If those supplied amounts use the same basis, the unreserved remainder is 3,800. The subtraction does not measure the distance to a daily or total loss floor.
If a pending order is cancelled, capacity should be updated from the confirmed account state. A cancellation intention alone does not prove the reserve disappeared or that no execution occurred before cancellation. Preserve unique executions and the later order status.
| Field | Amount | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Total buying power | 8,000 | Supplied example value |
| Positions reserved | 3,000 | Retain account basis |
| Pending orders reserved | 1,200 | Requires actual order status |
| Unreserved remainder | 3,800 | Separate from loss-rule headroom |
Check the share and instrument units
The stock guide and position-limit guide distinguish market rules and limits. Retain the ticker, quantity unit, current cap and applicable market when reading a proposed position. A dollar-valued instrument cap from a different product should not be silently treated as a number of shares.
This site’s existing research work retains instruments that disappear from later datasets. Keep that history when reviewing a stock list or backtest. A list of instruments available today does not prove that the same set existed during an earlier research period.
Compare a programme after the records agree
Check loss definitions, costs, eligibility and the treatment of overnight positions in the actual product. Stock availability does not establish access to options or another derivative. This worksheet does not place orders or verify ownership of underlying securities.
The HashHedge invitation is optional and follows the stock-account questions. Verify the current guide and full agreement before any purchase; the fictional buying-power values are not product entitlements.
